Video:: Highlights of 7 December 2009 NHL Game, Minnesota Wild at Phoenix Coyotes
This spring, I thought there was a good chance that the NHL Phoenix Coyotes were destined to move. So, imagine my surprise when I saw a CBC article on the Coyotes being one of the hottest teams in the league. Sure, it's early in the season, but the bankrupt team has 37 points, has won 5 straight, and are 7-2-1 in the last 10. The Leafs would kill for a 5-game winning streak. They are 11-5 at home and 7-6-1 on the road, so perhaps the team needs the zen-like quiet of the Jobing.com arena. In Mondays win against the Minnesota Wild, home attendance was 8,981 {hockey capacity is 17,799}. By contrast, 19,050 packed the Air Canada Centre in Toronto to watch the Leafs down the Thrashers.
Actually, part of me wishes I could see a game at Jobing.com Arena with the smaller crowds, but another part of me thinks the team belongs in a better market, which probably means Canada.
