Newfoundland & Labrador Tourism Ad

Image:: Newfoundland, by Rolf Hicker

I've been having the Maritimes and Newfoundland on my mind, as I'll likely be out there for the better part of August. I usually spend by birthday on the road and this will be the first time I'll be on an epic road trip since the early 90s when I'd go from LA to Vancouver, BC.

This commercial has been catching my eye::

I think it does a great job of capturing the majesty of Newfoundland & Labrador. Last year, I was perusing travel books about The "Rock" and I'm quite interested in sampling Newfoundland fare. I might have to pass on the cod roe, after seeing the looks on the judges' faces on an episode of Iron Chef. Here's a shot of a jiggs dinner.

I have a habit of following tourism and "move here" ad campaigns. I was pleasantly surprised by the one for Ontario that aired during the Winter Olympics::

It has a catchy pop tune and showcased the various landscapes of the province.
Twitterversion:: While planning trip to Newfoundland {@NLTweets}, I've been seeing the N&L tourism ads, evoking magical sense of place. @Prof_K
Song:: Morrissey-"Everyday Is Like Sunday"

So you'll be trying some Screech then? If you are able to fit it in, you should take the ferry ride over to St. Pierre Miquelon. Though I was only 5 or 6 when we made that trip, I remember it being quite beautiful.

Make sure you have Gravol for the ferry ride over to Newfieland as the waters can get quite choppy.
