The Anachronistic Best Coast

Somewhere around late summer of 1994, I started listening inexplicably to oldies stations. It may have been from my habit of switching to radio after I got sick of the tapes and CDs I had on my trips between Eugene, Oregon and California and oldies being one of the few formats I could stand after the local NPR station would peter out—and they always did. At any rate, I've always have a soft spot for some strains of retro, particularly when done in low-fi.

Best Coast is LA's Bethany Cosentino offering up songs in a gloom and doom 60s girl group style that's easy to listen to with occasionally a fuzz-punk edge drifts in. Easy breezy fo' sheezy.
