Another post on Toronto urbanism. This time is about "Sherbourne Park" in quotes as there's an open call to submit a suggestion for its name {proposal submission link}.
The park is the centrepiece of an East Bayfront {pdf} revitalization effort and also doubles as a stormwater treatment facility. East Bayfront is a district bounded by Yonge {west}, Cherry {east}, Lake Ontario {south} and The Gardiner/Lake Shore {north}. The area was an industrial wasteland on reclaimed land that was once Lake Ontario. The design was done by PFS and here's a link to their page on the project and Waterfront Toronto's description.
