newmusicmonday #110:: Beach Fossils

Beach Fossils are a Brooklyn (NY) shoegazey surf rock outfit fronted by Dustin Payseur. They had a North American tour this spring and are currently in Europe. They sold out the Bowery Ballroom in February. Here's a great review of their Chicago show.

"Careless" was the first single from the new album, 'Clash the Truth', that could have easily been a casualty of Hurricane Sandy. Luckily, the masters were packed up and moved from Gowanus before the storm hit.


It appears as if they're moving away from their low-fi roots and towards a more produced sound. I can go either way. One of my favorite new tracks is "Generation Synthetic":
